Please limit talk in this thread to this series. Other topics should be discussed in the appropriate threads. Play-by-play is not allowed. If you need that, there are other places to find it. Political discussions belong in the D&D forum not in here. All games are broadcast on Space City Network unless otherwise noted. 7-5 Shawn Dubin (R) vs. Pablo López (R) 7:10 7-6 Hunter Brown (R) vs. Joe Ryan (R) 1:10 7-7 Spencer Arrighetti (R) vs. Simeon Woods Richardson (R) 1:10
Dubin with a golden opportunity here to secure himself some extended roster time if he can follow up his last outing.
Don't love our pitching this series. Sure wish it was better. I guess don't we all eh? Just keep it going somehow. 2 out of 3. Offense will need to show up especially for games 1 and 3.
A hard series to go into with a bullpen game and Spaghetti pitching. Hope Brown keeps up with what he's been showing.
Tough series and the team is due for some tough games/hard luck. A 3-0 sweep is the only result I think is improbable, including 0-3. I just to see them fight for 27 innings, not make any mental mistakes, and come out healthy. Hopefully they can win 2 or 3, but regardless they go home to enjoy an off day and finish the first half w/ 3 vs Marlins and 3 vs Rangers. They should easily win at least 5 of these last 9 and go into the break 50-46 or better.
If we can keep the walks down, we will be in every game. The Twins aren't an amazing team, but they will put up the most fight we'll see in a while. Need to step on them early.
I'm heading to today's game. Was just talking to a Twins fan about this game. Both teams are coming in hot with the Twins giving a 7 inning beatdown yesterday to the Tigers. The Twins have Pablo Lopez pitching which would appear to give them the edge over Dubin but Lopez has been shaky at times this season. I'm predicting this might be a hitters game. The weather looks like it will be good with temps in the 70's and partly cloudy sky. Should be a great night for baseball. Oddly tomorrow is Pablo Lopez bobblehead day.
For those who want a really interesting pitching matchup tomorrow's afternoon game should be really good.
I think Dubin has the ability to go more than 3, however I think Espada and the coaching staff won't let him go more than 3 innings. They need arms for the bullpen and if he goes down with an injury, they're hella fugged.
I fear Dubin pitches well, but is exposed too long. Though this may be just the result of previous management.
No that's a legitimate concern as Espada has done that many times already. The key will be averaging under 18 pitches per inning and hopefully getting some quick easy outs. He is on 4 days, not extended rest and thew a season high 55 pitches last time out. I think they need to get him to at least 60 to keep stretching him out but 70 is probably the max they can hope for.
Another damn bullpen game, and Astros enter Minnesota chasing The Twins (and others) in the wild card standings. Another bandaid applied, Another finger in the dike. Can’t get to the other side of The All-Star break fast enough
Alvarez and Bregman destroy Ryan. He pitches right into their wheelhouse. Look for Bregman to take Lopez deep. And the same said, Bregman goes deep on Simeon. That's three games right there. Game over man.
