Didn’t see this posted, but the twins were very complementary of Hunter Brown. "His fastball and slider and cutter were just like Walker Buelher's," Kyle Farmer said, invoking his former Dodger teammate, a two-time All-Star. "Me and Solano were talking about that — his stuff plays just like Buehler."
High praise. When he can command his pitches, Brown looks quite capable of holding down a sub-3 ERA/FIP at this level. If Whitley keeps it up I could see the rotation at the end of the season being something like Framber, Javier, Brown, Whitley, and LMJ with Garcia/Urquidy as "long relievers." That would be fun.
Walker Buehler is a good comp for the fastball and cutter. The way Brown got called strikes last season on low fastballs reminded me of Buehler. Brown uses his curve a lot more while Buehler has been more throwing a lot of different pitches.
