Smart post, I too assumed it was going to Hoyt. Feliz needs the boost of a win as much as anyone outside of Sipp.
My understanding is that it is scorer's discretion who to give win in a situation where starter doesn't go 4, but has the lead. They usually give it to the first reliever. Feliz's 9th inning must have been deemed crucial to the victory in the scorer's opinion.
I'm usually not "media conspiracy theory guy," but it is a little ridiculous how little coverage the Astros have gotten on ESPN lately. They had one of the most epic late-game offensive explosions of all-time and then back that up by scoring 17 two days later. But all they want to talk about is the Yankees, Bryce Harper's fight and how mediocre the Cubs are.
The 40 runs the Astros scored in their three-game series against the Twins are Houston's most in a series of ANY length in franchise history.
that's baseball in a nutshell though tbh. it's really always been about yankees/red sox/cubs/dodgers. i'd rather them give us no attention than spin a false narrative/hatred like they did with harden and the rockets this year
Saw ESPN give lots of attention to us on Monday. Sportscenter started with the Stanley Cup, then Harper fight for about 90 seconds, then the Astros where there were highlights and then Boone and someone else talked about them for a few minutes. Several times mentioning how the Astros are the best team in baseball and there is no debating that right now. We've also been first in their power rankings for weeks now, which will likely continue onto next week. They even left us in first after getting swept by the Indians.
The Astros swept a 3-game series against a first-place team in which Brad Peacock, Mike Fiers, and David Paulino were their starting pitchers. What.
