They're just playing their worst baseball of the season. All you can hope is that they get it out of their system before any kind of playoff hope slips away.

The only way they get it out of their system is if they don't have to rely on Tucker, Reed, or Gomez to magically figure it out right now. Bregman is figuring things out, and is going to get a longer leash given his elevated prospect status over anybody not named Correa.

But ideally, he shouldn't be required to be a main cog at this point... just a supplement. No team can win with 2-3 proven professional hitters every night.

So glad Marisnick wasn't in center tonight... another solid decision from Hinch. Don't want to ruffle any feathers out there... No one wants to see Gomez sulk.

This. Gattis shouldn't be a starter against RHP, let alone the 5 hitter on a team that is supposed to be contending.

The only hitters in the last two months who have been above replacement level are Altuve and Correa. Even George has been terrible.

At least all this losing isn't causing anyone to lose their sense of humor:

Top of the 9th. Blum "He'll have to get through the heart of the Astros order" hahaha

Post Game. Stanton "You see 7 innings, 10 hits, 3 runs, you'd have thought he won the game" hahahahahahahahah

Post Game. Hinch "You have to play better to win"

To quote Jim Mora, "PLAYOFFS.....PLAYOFFS....don't talk about Playoffs....ARE YOU KIDDING ME"....I'm just hoping we can win a game".

I feel bad for Gomez. From everything I can see, he seems like a good dude and is not a jerk. But, as much as I've wanted him to succeed, he's been unwatchable most of this season. At this point would it hurt to bring Teoscar up to see what he can give in the OF? Outside of Springer (for good chunk of year), our OF is looking pretty terrible.

Agreed. I can't wait until Gomez, Tucker, & Gattis are gone. If you're going to be a terrible offensive player, at least play average defense (see: Castro). But no, even that's too difficult for these 3 stooges. It seems like at least 1 of them costs our SP a run each night.

Rangers came back to win. We can kiss any fleeting hope of the division goodbye.

Jeff Luhnow bares some responsibility. These hitting issues aren't new.

    Mariners? Probably not.

Rangers have mastered the art of winning one-run games. Luck(y)? That's skill! 25-8 on the season.

I might be wrong on this, but doubt it

I think that while Hinch makes out the daily lineup card, the fact that Gomez continues to play CF when he is the 4th best defensive OF on the team is on Luhnow. He made the trade and doesn't have the ability to admit it has turned out so bad. And i'm not ripping him for making the trade, I liked it when it happened, and Gomez and Fiers both helped us down the stretch last year. But Gomez has been a disaster long enough, and watching his teammate on TV clearly say "what the f*** is he doing" should be telling enough at this point

Hinch isn't a great manager, but the Gomez situation right now is on Luhnow in my opinion

I agree Gomez seems like a great dude

It's also obvious that he loves playing baseball

Unfortunately, he is horrible at it....not bad at it, horrible at it

At least Gattis gives effort. Castro is lazy behind the plate, and for some reason has quit swinging when he is at the plate. Seems he would rather stand up there and take strike 3 and then cry like a little biatch to the umpire

Castro has the ability to be a great defender, but he certainly hasn't been

I for one can't wait for him to be gone
