The rain meant nothing yesterday. Astros had plenty time to comeback... and would have The only winner was Keuchel and his stats.
Generally it's not a good idea with how much bullpens suck now. The elite RPs can do it but everyone else is pretty unreliable. David Robertson, even though his season has pretty much sucked, had a save in the first game of the doubleheader. Then he came out in the second game of the doubleheader and gave up 3 HRs, 2 to pinch hitters, and blew the save.
Hopefully this is a sign that our bats are waking up. We are only 3 out of the WC and if our bats are heating up that shouldnt be impossible to make up.
They picked up Ziegler and Abad at the deadline and the two are about to be a combined 0-7 if the score holds on. Crazy
I guess I wasn't clear. Output probability meaning, looking at the players before the game starts, I'd expect a better output from the 2nd set of players than the 1st. Which means, I wouldn't worry about the 2nd set of hitters MORE than the 1st. Wasn't saying they would put up more than 15. Still a great showing
I'd love to believe that, but I'm worried its just a continuance of the Astros beating down bad teams like they did in July. If they can do this against a contending team then I'll be impressed.
Rare fireworks for the 2nd half of the lineup. It's the lowly twins but the team must use this as a springboard to a red hot 6 week stretch.
Not impressed. The Astros sucking against the Rangers and obliterating a crap Twins staff was predictable. #LuhnowOffense.
Understood exactly what you meant.... I was joshing with you. Lighten up. The fact you didn't understand my worrying about tonight's production is silly. Other posters didn't share the same difficulty. Spoiler Lighten Up.... you're starting to sound like posters who can't add 1 + 1 during a conversation
They've been struggling against even bad pitching before this series, you have to take what you can get and hope it builds some confidence.
It's impressive, but true about the Rangers. If we were halfway, a tad bit, somewhat competitive against them (5-8), we'd only be 1.5 GB, right now.
a twins offense that had obliterated first place teams headed into ours. had the indians gotten lucro, we sweep the rangers. add to that, valbuena an important part of our order has been out, like ops of .800 important. When a team loses a player like that, they feel it.
Traditionally, if you beat the crap teams, you will be in the playoffs. I'm good with that. but as everyone is pointing out, we haven't developed enough talent to compete with the playoff teams. Think; Bull pen: World Series Caliber Pitching Staff: Wild Card Caliber Lineup: Wild Card Caliber Defense: World Series Caliber I will at least give the Astros credit for trying to improve the lineup by calling up the talent, but that failed miserably. They've also tried to improve the staff recently, but still unwilling to pitch Devenski and not sure we have that much AAA talent. Hopefully Musgrove can be that guy.
