A team that is trying to win the division cannot EVER play someone as bad as Carter. It is becoming absurd.

It is beyond awful the team is so committed to keeping him. Reed/White could be such a massive improvement over Carter, but the team continues to hold out some hope that Carter doesn't suck.
The lineup that Hinch rolled out there today is almost as if he's conceding the game and accepting defeat. Hoping they can scratch some runs but this has got to be the worse lineup of the season.
This ump is pretty consistently calling balls low and inside as strikes, so if McCullers can tend towards that part of the zone then he'll get a lot of called strikes and and some weak ground balls.
I don't think they're holding out any hope that he'll turn it around, it's obvious they have other motivations. Our FO isnt stupid. But it make it any more palattable knowing you have reed and white in the farm system.
Honestly at this point whatever motivation they have cannot possibly outweigh the benefit of not having to play him. He is that bad.
