What a play by Matsui. Another great play by Lance. Hunter with three hits. and Pudge ruins it all by hitting int a 5-4-3 double play. Damn
They need to listen to your advice. Pudge swings into a DP on the first pitch with 2 men on and no outs.
Was a little surprised we didn't bunt there, but he had a good game last night so I guess we were hoping he'd come up with another big hit.
True but both Miggy and Pudge are particularly adept at swinging out of the zone and into DPs. They too often make it easy on pitchers.
did you see how this game ended? 0-0 game going into the 11th, Geoff Geary gives up 4 in the top of the 11th, then picks up the win after we score 5 in the bottom. that guy is cooked.
Wow, I didn't see the bosxcore yesterday but I believe Geary also gave up 4 in his first game with RR.
Yeah, I remember way back when watching him start. He looked so good his first few starts, but just couldn't get it going. He's found a great spot in the bullpen. I hope we place him in the 8th inning role permanently, instead of letting Hawkins slide down to the 8th with Val being back. I guess they'll just swap the two depending on how many innings they've pitched recently.
Yea, our bullpen has some nice potential. Too bad Geary couldn't come close to what he did last season. We'll have to go through Mauer one more time to close this thing out.
awesome win all around... i wish we didn't let that 2nd one get away in dallas. would have been a nice 7 series win streak going, but it was a good road trip. let's sweep KC.
Valverde now has a WHIP under 1.00 with 18 Ks to 3 BBs as well as 7 straight scoreless outings. Mauer doesn't get on base for only the 4th time in 46 games this season. Most importantly, we win this game and the series! We were a hit away from winning the Rangers series, too. That middle game was very winnable. We would've been sitting on 7 straight series wins but 6 out of 7 definitely works.
Hunter is looking like a legit all-star. For that matter, the entire outfield is playing at an all-star level.
The Brewers and Reds already lost today. The Pirates are down 2 to the streaking Rockies. The division-leading Cards are clobbering KC. The Cubs are an inning away from sweeping my other team, the Cleveland Doormats.
