Astros take 2 of 3. but astros fans, if you haven't seen Joe Mauer play, make sure you watch him. they're not on ESPN as often as they should be, considering they have THE BEST HITTER IN THE GAME TODAY. yeah, i said it.
When did the Cards trade Albert Pujols? Mauer is a sick hitter and is on fire this year. Then you have to face Morneau. *shudders*
They are talking about Mauer possibly hitting .400. I doubt it will happen, and most experts think he actually could hit .400 if he didn't play Catcher, but won't since he does. I think he'll end up in the .370 range, which is still pretty darn awesome.
He has a better chance than the most recent attempts. Neither Helton, Chipper, Gwynn, or Brett had an MVP batting behind them. Not to mention his season is shorter due to his injury to start the season.
We don't usually see comments like this on page 1 of an Astros thread... or any page for that matter.
Luckily I have both Mauer and Pujols in my fantasy team Unfortunately I havent seen Mauer play much, very much looking forward to this series.
what's amazing is....they've played REALLY well. and the angels have had one struggle after another. and today, the angels are only 1.5 games back....and it's getting awfully hot in Arlington.
Texas is 6th in runs scored in the AL: Tampa Bay: 385 Runs Scored NYY: 367 Boston: 354 Toronto: 346 Minnesota: 330 Texas: 324 In the NL, Philly, LA, and Colorado all have more runs scored as well.
They do score a lot of runs but to be fair, they led all of baseball in runs scored last season yet finished 4 games under .500. This season, they have their usually potent offense combined with decent pitching instead of league-worst pitching.
