Too bad Paredes isn’t a fit in RF. A Walker/Rodgers (or Dubon)/Pena/Arenado infield might be on of the best defensive infields ever.
Oops. Meant to post 6 consecutive hits. Ended up being 13 straight reaching base for the 'Stros. Nice to see the bats wake up today
Luhnow sucked in the second round. Overall second round picks are far more likely to make it to the majors.
The article this picture is from talks about his off-seaso … apparently he’s benching 385 so yeah I’d say he’s cut https://www.mlb.com/news/jon-singleton-strength-offseason-astros-camp
If McCullers really is only going to miss 2-3 starts, it wouldn’t shock me if Houston optioned Wesneski and let Ryan Gusto start the season in the rotation. Not only is Gusto looking great, but there are service time implications in that move that could potential buy another season of control over Wesneski by keeping him down a couple months.
I get that Gusto is probably going to spend the season at SL. But I would really like to see him get a chance as a 6-7th inning reliever.
I think he’d be good in relief but he has too much potential as a SP to give up on that right now. Hes built like a tank and could be a steady #3-4 who gives 160-180 quality innings a year
