Look, Spencer being the best pitcher in the AL for over a month is not nothing, but did we really expect him to be elite? The only thing I am sure of with the Astros is that Joe Espada is not a good manager.
The numbers never remotely supported Arrighetti's awesome results, so him regressing hard was pretty clearly gonna happen. His unsustainably dominant results have been the biggest thing keeping this team from completely cratering. We're 9-1 when he starts...that was never gonna last.
The Arrighetti and Colin Price combo isn't going well. Arrighetti has struggled since the switch. You might as well have Price catch Imai or Burrows if we're going to lose those games anyway....
This spaghetti price combo isn't working. Don't know if diaz will be much better but 4 stolen bases thru 4 1/3 innings is awful.
They are the guys brought in to turn this ship around... and guarantee a lottery chance for the draft
This Delgado dude has never even been a good hitter in the minors, was sporting a cool .682 OPS this season. There's just so much garbage on this roster. A whole bunch of rejects, bench guys and 4A prospects.
Doesn't seem like a good defender either, with the ball earlier he was unable to knock down. I saw him initially listed as SS but he's played more at 2nd.
All that really matters is that he's an infielder not named Shay Whitcomb, there's no greater asset one can have to Dana Brown.
