All series talk goes in here. Non series talk goes somewhere else. No PBP, that can be found from other sources if you need it. All games are broadcast on AT&T Sports SW unless otherwise noted. 9-15 Cristian Javier (R) vs. Zack Greinke (R) 7:10 9-16 J.P. France (R) vs. Cole Ragans (L) 6:10 9-17 Framber Valdez (L) vs. Jordan Lyles (R) 1:10
Lefty tomorrow so no Brantley. we know who Javier is throwing to. only chance of megadeath lineup is France or Brown pitching and facing a righty.
It's a shame the Astros got themselves into a situation where they need to sweep. 2 of 3 on the road should always be good enough.
Absolutely zero clue what to expect from this team at this point. This has been an extremely weird jekyll and hyde season.
The Royals are 4-3 when Greinke doesn't get the decision so need to get to him early and often. Royals 3.17 runs support for Greinke vs Astros 6.81 runs support for Javier.
I see two former Astros pitching against us. Ex teammates tend to give us problems. However, we should win all three games. Given our inconsistencies, I have no clue whether we will or not. Add in Dusty and Maldy to the mix and this series is sure to be unpredictable.
Cole Ragans who the Rangers traded to Royals for Chapman looks like an ace already. That may the be toughest one of the 3.
If Javier is performing as he has been, then I expect him to labor through 5 innings. If he can keep it to 2 runs or less, I'd consider letting him pitch into the 6th. If he's his usual self, I hope Dusty pulls him after 5 to limit any damage.
Luckily, there were only two teams he faced that I would consider a contending team in the Rays and Blue Jays.
