It doesn't really happen that often It's just selective memories, tons of selective memories.

The AL west is not as much of a concern at this point with Angels sucking and the rest of the division being plenty behind but the Astros should have their sights on bigger goals. The offense is still too inconsistent and should be the focus of upgrade at the deadline. Yuli and Bregman are the biggest issues imo to the offense because they are batting in premium spots in the order and have not been good enough. They alone have left 10 men on base today.

A crap outing was inevitable, he picked a good game to get it out of his system.

Disappointing offensive performance today. Astros are in a weak part of the schedule, so as the saying goes here in East Texas, you got to make hay while the Sun shines. They have been doing that, but you are not going to be good every day. Fortunately, the LA Angels are in a deep funk.

In the 5 games following 10+ run output, the Stros have scored 7 runs. 5 of those were in 1 game.

Not sure if this has been posted but the last time the Angels gained a game on the Astros was on MAY FIRST.

Probably just jinxed the Angel Phillie game, but that seems like an insane stat.

This season a 10 run output is a death sentence to the offense the following game.

Nice, typical, 0 run explosion after a good game last night.

Be careful, I tried pointing out this trend after the Red Sox stinker, and people immediately tried to tell me how it's not a trend.

    For the record, in 2022...

Also, in 2021 it was roughly 50% of the time when we scored less than 4 runs following a 10 run outburst. I think it was 10/19 if I remember correctly when I looked it up.

2020 was weird but it was bad then too.

    It's been awhile since 2019.

Half games don't count, I assume?

    That doesn't seem possible, but...

Stros were 11-11 at the end of the day and have gone 23-8 since. Angels were 15-8 and have gone 12-18 since.

Geezus, I just realized the pitcher we faced is dogshit. Why am I not surprised...

ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS making these putrid, cocaine ****, worthless pitchers look like Greg ****ing Maddux! It's maddening!! Go out and face prime Pedro Martinez and light him up for 7 in 4ip. Face a rookie with a 12 ERA? Perfect Game.

Well, 5 games isn't much of a trend.

Dusty is too stubborn to shake up the lineup, it's gonna cost the astros sooner or later.

I'll double down on that jinx.

Phils reached base on 3H, 4BB and an error in the 1st, scored 5 runs. They've had 2 baserunners since.

we don’t normally perform well against dogshit pitchers. Especially after scoring a lot of runs the previous day. I did not have a good feeling about this one and Im pretty sure many others here felt the same.

We are comfortably in first place. I will just remind myself of that and put this embarrassing performance behind me.

Would you rather it be the reverse? That they beat up on the crappy pitchers they'll never see in the playoffs, and struggle against the good ones?
