Marwin has gotten back to not striking out (13%) in June. He was at 27% prior compared to 19% last season. The BABIP gods have also shined upon him this month, getting his number back to normal. I never, ever expected Marwin to replicate his power numbers from last season, but I always thought he could come pretty close to matching the OBP, while providing some power. Some pretty terrible competition, but it's a good sign nonetheless.

Can the league actually ban shifts? That seems too subjective to actually enforce. Manfred is off his rocker. I hated Selig but Manfred is going too far if he implements this rule.
Manfred strikes me as the type to look at any issue, whether anything gets actually implemented or not. I can't see them banning shifts. Good luck defining an infielder's allowed "area of play" and better luck enforcing it.
You could limit it with some easily enforceable restrictions. Like you must have 2 infielders on each side of 2nd base for example. You could still shift the SS to 2nd but not completely to the right side of the infield. I don't have an issue with the shifts though.
Bregman has reached base 28 consecutive games. Yeah. He's also very RISPest -- sporting a .490 BA in such situations.
His batting average is the only thing that lags a bit behind. He got up to .290 last year. I bet he gets to .300 this year. Although, it doesnt really matter what his average is if he keeps table setting at the top and getting clutch hits.
