Podsednik strikes again. Hasnt hit a homer in 180 at-bats but hits a 3-run homer tonight. 0 homers in 2005 but hits a walk-off homer in the world series (still not over that one)
Meh, it was just a post in the heat of the moment. Drama is part of sports. It's why we watch. That's how I felt at the time. Myers was having the best outing of a season in which he's been one of the few players to exceed expectations. I was probably vicariously feeling Myers' emotions since I watched the entire game while most people were probably watching the NBA Finals. Assuming you did watch the game, you would've seen that Myers far and away displayed the most frustration/emotion he's showed all season long. I felt that frustration as a fan. Maybe tragic wasn't the best choice of words but close enough. It was aboust as frustrated as I've felt all season long and I've shared just about all the emotions of this team's dismal season. Myers was pitching a gem before the fluke hit that kept the inning going. He already had to deal with that whacky situation with the umps a couple innings earlier where all the players had to return from the dugouts.
Posednik has hit 9 of his 38 career HR against the Astros: http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/split.cgi?n1=podsesc01&year=Career&t=b#oppon There are 6 teams that he's had more career PA against and he's hit 10 HR against all of them combined.
