Can't believe y'all are engaging the troll. If Davis had let that ball fall, and Arenado got a hit on the next pitch, Senator would be in there claiming that everyone who knows anything about baseball says take any out you can get in that situation blah blah blah. He's not worth the keystrokes.
So you've heard of me... Right; situational awareness, as in no one would be foolish enough to send a guy home on a pop foul ~50-60 feet from home plate. That was an all-cost out; they critically needed it. Once Davis' instinct and adrenaline kicked in, he did not have time to carefully consider the various machinations while running full speed toward a potential death trap. But, by all means, tell us how important scouting reports are!
I was saying 1B is his best position based on having watched him during the first two times he was called up. And when Bagwell was talking about how great Yuli has become at first, he brought up Marwin and even JD as well, saying "Astros first basemen as a whole" agre great defensively this year, and they showed highlights. Davis made quite a few spectacular stretches and scoops at first in the series against the Orioles. And 1B was his primary position in college (though he played some RF and 3B as well).
Except I wouldn't, and once again, when people on this board hear something they don't like and cannot come up with a logical argument, they put words in other people's mouth. It is a trend I pointed out just yesterday. Buy yourself a LS, join a league, get some fresh air and play the game instead of getting angry at people who have more experience.
It's something you know before the play starts, during, anything can happen. Not a guy who will play during the playoffs so not worried about it, but the mistake was his. A more capable 3B, such as Bregman, has a different license than JD. Bregman's decision making and ability to execute is also second to none.
If Bregman was at 3B we wouldn't be having this discussion. Not for any reason of his situational awareness or ability to not throw the ball 6 feet over the catcher's head, but simply because he's too short to reach that ball.
If you want to call me a block head go ahead, won’t bother me. Hell my wife said I look like a 6’6” butter face actor from Game of Thrones Sean Bean.
Yeah.... the throw home was not a good one.... because block head was the one making throw. He also shouldn’t have been surprised by the tag... because they knew block head was the one making the throw. Nothing personal against block head... he just is a bad fielder and really deserves 400-500 at bats in the big leagues to see if he can stick. Too bad we can’t trade White, Davis and Reed to a dumpster fire rebuilding team that can afford to take a chance.
So let me get this right You have to have played the game well to understand it? This explains how Morey is so good as Rockets GM, being a stud player and all WTF did I just read all this for?
