Last year I think we had the best record in baseball (or something close) in late April. Enough for DaDakota to make a post questioning whether Roger Clemens would really benefit us more than Wandy and Buchholz. :)

do you guys think the pitchers get angry with the position players because of lack of hitting, or are they thankful that they're actually decent fielders with limited errors?

though the pitchers arguably help make them look like better fielders.

What an exciting play... Pence is providing the sort of excitement that the Astros have never seen before!

Agreed... he let the chance of a extremely spectacular catch by Hamilton outweigh the more likely scenario, which he would have easily seen had he gone halfway down the line (which he didn't).

That was the funniest play I've seen in a long time. SportsCenter will have fun with that one.

Yep... and hitting fly balls that sail into the gap, rather than roll. Ensberg was right when he said the only other guy who's bat makes the same sound when it connects is Pujols.

And please don't squeeze with the bases loaded...

What I don't get is, where does all the power come from? Pence is about as sturdy as a twig from the looks of it.

That being said, whatever the hell works, lol.

well i guess it wouldn't be any fun if we scored runs and didn't **** up four to five times in the inning.

He's got a very quick bat, long arms to get extention, and actually has a solid frame... the fact that he hasn't filled out yet, and will get stronger now that he gets big-league weight-training/conditioning attention, should have the Astros pretty excited.

I know Lohse has had a good year and all so far, but can we stop making career 5 era pitchers look like all-stars out there?

It's a damn shame when Oswalt has to cling to 1 and 2 runs for dear life, he can't give up more than 1-2, because we can't score more than 1-2!!
