WTF kind of call was that?

It was low and outside......Ensberg should be on first base.

In other news, the sky is blue.

NM, only watching on Gamecast...sounds like a bad call.

That's absolutely atrocious. That umpire should be suspended, immediately. Not even remotely freakin' close.

Moe "deer-in-headlights" Ensberg strikes out looking w/2 out and bases loaded.

    Dumbass.

Morgan would still be getting flack if he swung and missed at that pitch... people would be clamoring that he just swung at ball 4.

There wasn't much he could do with that pitch regardless.

What's he supposed to do? It's not like there's much he can do with a low and away pitch that's well outside the strike zone. The pitch wasn't even all that close.

I didn't see the pitch, (Yahoo! only, no radio/TV), but it *so* didn't surprise me to read that Moe kept his bat on his damn shoulder.

I can say without any exaggeration (shocking for me, I know) that it was one of the furthest pitches outside of the zone that I've ever seen called for a strike. Just incredible that a major league umpire could miss that.

Now the ump isn't calling the same pitch for us... just replace them all with a computer that can't sense "emotion".

The ump probably gives the Astros that ball 4 if it was in Houston.

    Awesome.

Said it before & I'll say it again: Morgan is completely ****ing snakebit right now. When he does swing & crushes the ball...it's right at somebody, or 5 feet foul (if his bases loaded rocket to the RFer in the Xtra innings Milwaukee game is 10 feet either way, he's a hero).

The strike 3 call was a ****ing joke...but the ball before the foul GS that he checked his swing on was waaaaaaaaaaaay too close to take. He coulda/shoulda been rung up right there.

So you missed the grand slam that just went a couple of feet foul one pitch before that?

Mo was ready to swing... just not at a ball 1 foot off the plate.

Yes. Yes I did. Catching precious few details right now; I'm sorry I jumped on Moe inaccurately. All I saw was the bases loaded and "Morgan Ensberg strikes out looking." Egg's on my face for jumping to conclusions.

    Me too, I'm watching Gamecast.

From reading this thread, it sounds like the ump has a plane to catch or something.

Not that it would've mattered, but the strike three call to end the game was almost as bad as the one on Ensberg. This umpire has some issues... he was consistent throughout the game with the strike zone, so it's not a home crowd issue I don't think. Nonetheless, when you're that consistently bad, the league needs to take some action.

Why was there no J Lane pinch-hitting HR machine up instead of Mensberg there?
