Thanks Qualls. Simply unbelievable. And you people have the nerve to complain about Lidge. Nobody gives up more big home runs than Qualls.
I'm watching the Spike Lee documentary of Katrina on HBO. I guess it's not as depressing as viewing another 'Stros choke.
Qualls has more blown saves than Lidge this year... many more in the "blink of an eye HR" variety... and for a seventh or 8th inning guy, those type of blown saves are INEXCUSABLE. I've said it before, and I'll say it again... at least Lidge was, at one point, considered the most dominant pitcher west of Mariano. He was also a pretty damn reliable 7th and 8th inning guy. Qualls NEVER had that... except for 3 games in the 2005 NLCS where he shut down the Cards pretty good. He's always had this inconsistent streak in him dating back to the minors when he was a starter... he's either ON or GONE. Also, Qualls hasn't had to face even HALF the scrutiny that Lidge has... the guy deserves far worse.
Damn. Well, this was a fun inning. LMAO. God I hate baseball. If we don't score next inning my night is going to suck.
