I'm psyched. This lineup is playoff quality. Except I miss Diaz. And I don't know why Singleton has not left for the minors.
Singleton is basically doing what we wanted Yuli to do. Back up 1st Baseman. There was no room for that though. Lol.
I think just insert Diaz at 1b when dusty has to go with Maldonado and this lineup has like 1 easy out
When you've scored 6 in the first 3 innings and the only LOB is the guy who had a 2-out 2-RBI hit, you're doing ok.
So with Diaz at C we could field a lineup of hitters all having an >.800 OPS with the exception of 1B and SS. That's not bad.
I'm not buying this narrative that Framber's added velo this season is actually hurting him. Surely it is playing a role in his reduced GB% but he looked as good as he ever has in the first half of the season.
Hensley falling flat on his face kind of messed up their backup IF plans. Would have been fun to have Yuli back, but I understand why they chose to move on. Also, I was shocked to just notice that Singleton's OPS+ is higher than Yuli's
Pena is on fire. Maybe he's finally figured out how to leverage his improved plate discipline without sacrificing contact quality....or maybe he's just streaky.
