You weren't trolling, necessarily.

I still believe Blanco's suspension is what ultimately botched his All-Star selection. Your claim of his 1-2 fewer starts preventing it was naive. Dude threw a no-hitter. The no-hitter was likely the deciding factor for JV over Cole in 2019.

I respect the response and thank you.

FTR I think there is a chance the suspension effected Blanco's omission, and of course it reduced his opportunity to impress and compile.

But I think the much more likely scenario is the rule that all teams must be included, the limitation of spots, along with his lack of historical track record.

The guy they just drafted won't be in MLB as a catcher for ~2 years.

It may take that long to teach Diaz how to play 1B. He is nowhere close to being an IF yet.
