Apparently they showed a graphic and mentioned that on the Ms broadcast showing that fact right before he gave it up. Would also like to see the feed.
Honestly, I’d rather not see the Ms have a chance at the wild card either so I’d rather see the Twins, Sox, etc keep winning. The Ms play us tough and all it takes is for some lucky Arozarena and Julio hot streak and that team could easily win the WS with that SP staff they have. Quite frankly, I’m not sure there’s a team I would want to play less than the Ms in the playoffs.
Every team above us in the AL standings + Seattle needs to lose (AL East and AL Central need to beat the hell out of each other...go Tampa/Toronto/Detroit!) 1. Reach Postseason 2. Win Division 3. Get top-2 seed
Boston appears to be on their way to a loss. They'll be 2 games behind the Astros. Astros 1/2 game behind KC who holds the last WC spot.
If we think the Rangers can't mount a comeback, then yes we'd love for them to sweep the Twins regarding the positioning of the WC. If the Twins lost 3 of 4 vs the Rangers and we swept the White Sox, we would be positioned 2nd in the WC race, given KC loses a game this weekend.
If the Rangers get back in the Division race, it means the Astros have completely cratered and I doubt it matters at that point.
EVERY team that's beaten the Astros in the playoffs since 2015 (Royals included) has *not* won a playoff series the following season -- half of those teams didn't even make the playoffs. The '86 Mets fit the criteria too.
Verlander pitched 4 innings for CC tonight. Stat line: 4.0 IP. 4H. 2R (1 earned). 0 BB. 5 SO. 57 pitches. 41 strikes. He struck out the side in the 4th. He's out of the game. Looks like we'll see him next week.
Probably a 75 pitch count limit if he does. Dubin probably goes down until expanded rosters where I expect the return of Whitley and maybe Whitcomb.
6-man rotation, enter Unless there's any "discomfort" tomorrow, he should pitch by next Friday. He should be limited to 70-75 PC for his first few starts, then ramp it to 80-85. He should *not* be pushed for 90+ anytime soon. Should be an excellent chain reaction for the entire rotation because everyone could use less "pushing", Framber included.
It's incredibly weird and feels incredibly wrong to be rooting for the Rangers right now. Also, I absolutely love Carlos Santana's (Twins 1B) high pants. They're over his knees.
I've said it before and I'll say it again I'll take as many "fluke" world series titles as we can get.
Me too --- but thing is, these Astros aren't fluking -- their competition is. The Killer B's needed a "fluke", but it never happened. Then, it seems logical that you shouldn't "hate" the Mets. They won fair and square. It's cool to dislike them, but repeating how much you *hate* them is juvenile and unnecessary. Hate the Jazz and their delayed clock-starter -- but even that happened long ago. .
