Cease with the no decision, that's huge He stays at 14-7 and at this point that won't get him the Cy Young.
Yankees are garbage, struggling to beat a team that's not even trying to win games. When you play an entire half a season under .500 heading into the playoffs, you're garbage.
If the Astros went 0-13 to end the season, the Yankees would still need to go 10-5 to get the 1 seed.
If we lost in the ALDS then yes that will be a likely outcome. Click will be back if we make another WS appearance. Not so sure about Dusty, Espada might be too valuable to let walk.
Off topic- Aaron Judge hit number 60 last night. That ball was estimated to have costs around 500k in the open market. The guy who caught the ball gave it back to Judge for an autograph........ Do your F'in research before you go to the game. Big yikes.
I don't think doing this makes the person stupid. I guarantee that person knew they could have ransomed that ball for a lot more than an autograph. If they chose to give it back for so little it is because they recognize that the reason that ball is valuable is Judge's accomplishment, not their own. It's not because they are stupid or ignorant. I applaud that kind of behavior.
He's been with the organization since 2018, analytically-driven, been interviewed for manager positions numerous times, bi-lingual and has built solid rapport with every player. I know this is hard to quantify but I think continuity is important in the clubhouse to aid in prolonging this magnificent run we're on.
[Admittedly snarky question] why hasn't he prevented Dusty from making the decisions members of this board are disgusted with? That seems to be the job of the bench coach and confidant. By the way, I agree with the things you said about him.
I don't think I've ever seen where a GM is judged based on a team's performance on the field in the playoffs. Click is not a player or an in game manager. He builds rosters. Has he assembled a roster that can contend for a title? Yes? He did his job.
Because his job is to make suggestions. Nobody can prevent Dusty (or any leader) from making decisions. That goes for a bench coach.
Off topic... Given that all the WC teams are 5 games ahead of Baltimore and may all clinch with 1 week to go, would they possibly lose "on purpose" to position themselves against Cleveland and in the Yankees side of the bracket?
The boss is the boss. You can disagree with him one on one, but when he makes a decision, you support him in front of others even if it is not the best decision (i.e., better to try to make the best of a less than optimal situation than to cause uncertainty to make it worse).
Tampa Bay and Seattle might be thinking that. It was early in the season, but Toronto handled the Astros pretty well. Took an Astros comeback to get just one win in MMP and Springer was kicking our asses at the plate and on the field.
