I have say that handing Singleton the keys to 1B was shortsighted and down right stupid. Was there a single person on this board that thought he was ready? Will ever be? Yet, somewhere in the braintrust, it was thought the best answer?
I think that's well worth the risk for the chances at a compensation pick (and the higher draft pool that comes with it).
wow. well, i take back what i said, both about his lack of experience, and about him potentially being only the 2nd hardest working man in Houston sports.
The front office/GM is going through the growing process too... top 100 prospect lists, grade A drafts, and organizational farm success doesn't always translate. Luhnow still largely unproven as a MLB-level GM.
Has a violent throwing motion... hard to reproduce... leads to wildness. Kinda telling that he gets more effective the longer he goes into games.... the live arm settles down, more consistent results.
