The Astros aren't really playing worse right now, we have lost 3 consecutive one run games. Prior to this we had won our last 4 one run games, those tend to even out. I think we get a split here.
Yeah! Enough, man. Carter just isn't worth it. Dump this garbage. Looks so bad up there hacking & whiffing.
The recent winning ways have been fun, but this lineup simply has too many holes still. Tuve and Fowler have been great, Springer and Singleton have shown flashes and I'm optimistic about, but first year players shouldn't be expected to carry your offense. After those 4, the lineup just looks bad right now.
Those poor Astros...got psyched up after a small period of winning...and now we are back to losing again.
Frankly you can add 3B, and C to the positions we could improve. While Dominguez and Castro are serviceable players, they should be bottom of the order hitters on a good team. Of those 5 position we aren't getting good production from, we need to significantly upgrade at least 2 of them offensively. LF and DH are obviously the easiest to find hitters for, and we have a SS coming up that might be kinda good. Still hoping Castro can rebound and get that OPS back into the 730-750 range. I expected quite a bit of regression, but not to this extent. They had the 3rd best record in baseball over the last month. Even the optimists knew this team wasn't that good, a losing spell was due. At this point i expect this team to win close to 70 games, maybe even more than 70. By any standard that is a massive improvement. Everything is still pointing up.
