Paredes on pace for a better year than what Bregman gave us last year. The issue is all on Walker not coming close to replacing Tucker's productivity. That's really the difference in this year vs last year's offense. Plus Altuve needs to get going. Diaz is about on track to match last year after a brutal start. Our RF production is probably on par with what our collective first basemen did last year, so that's a wash. LF is still LF.
The lineup is still trash. We got absolutely dominated by their starting pitching this series. Fortunately their lineup is trash too. Like Nook said, they’ve got to get another power bat if they want any chance of actually contending.
Besides clutch homers from Diaz and Paredes, the pitching was excellent. A quality start for Framber and shutdown innings for Abreu and Hader.
Tucker wasn’t even playing when we went on a run. The real issue is Altuve being garbage and getting nothing from Yordan so far. Definitely would not be wise to bet on Altuve returning to his previous levels. Have to get another bat.
Paredes always seems to have good at bats, and solid contact with the ball and it's flying off his bat. Unfortunately, he is the only guy in our lineup I feel that way about. Hasn't been the case for Altuve, Yordan, Yainer, Walker. Pena too, until his recent move to leadoff changed his productivity for the better
