I mean seriously… I guess we have no choice at this point but damn man. Chas is basically a defensive body and occasional pinch runner at this point. Brown really screwed this deadline.
They had no excuses not to put up numbers this game. Heaney is god-awful. They’ve faced him many times. Top of the lineup has had major success. Facing a lefty so the one strength Chas had surely had in his career is in play. Rangers have been reeling since the last time these teams played.
Damn you are right... It has to be Espada's fault. If he had hit Chas higher up in the lineup he would have more confidence and he'd have 2 HRs right now
If Altuve/Yordan are missing these pitches… yes, they’re dead. The only way the Astros role players benefit is from the damage/traffic the other guys do, and that induces mistakes. But when their stars aren’t hitting the mistakes, it starts to look like the 2005 Astros were a murderers’ row compared to these guys.
When the big 3 who we depend on can’t even get 1 hit… you’re not gonna win much. Altuve Yordan Diaz 0fer
There’s no doubt the offense will get hot again (even if Tucker’s new leg transplant suffers from rejection)…. It’s just a question of whether the pitching can hold up long enough to account for whatever this is, and whether or not they’ll still be in the division lead whenever this stretch ends. There’s still no perfect front office that has been able to ‘predict’ when guys are about to go off… and all the advanced stats/metrics are still largely retroactive. Certainly BABIP can suggest ‘luck’ or if a certain trend may even out… but there are times where hitters just get in the perfect zone and everything looks like a beach ball. (Like Yordan was in June).
