Cursed? He was swinging at pitches 3 feet inside…. And he was actually trying to go the opposite way with them (as he did in his first AB). This team is desperate for offense. Everybody wants Chas to do well. But some of his PA’s and approaches are still befuddling. He has to basically get a total mistake right now (and do something with it).
That's literally all we've been doing. I think Blum said eariler something like 7 of the not many runs scored in the last 8 games have been unearned. Can't seem to score if the other team doesn't gift it to us lately.
Framber has thrown 2 mistake pitches the last 2 innings that generated decent contact… but ultimately loud outs. This is exactly what it’s like watching the Astros on offense… except they’re getting mistakes every inning and either just missing them or hitting them right at guys. It should turn. Rooting for offense is frustrating. Easier to root for quality pitching.
They’d deserve it. The Rangers don’t have good starting pitching. The rest of the league (including the White Sox) has done damage to their starters over the last month. Either they have the perfect scouting report on the Astros… or the Astros have an outdated scouting report on them. Till then, more loud outs…
There was a time, when the Astros got back into the race and were averaging 5+ runs a game, that I’m sure the front office was sitting pretty thinking life without Tucker may not be all bad… Seems like 4 seasons ago. That’s how crippling/deflating a bad offense (especially when there’s good pitching) can be. It will turn again… but they’re going to have to committ more $$$ or prospect capital to hitting, and it can’t be past prime guys.
Had a couple more pseudo-“mistakes” that inning… but its getting to the point where those aren’t as bad because hitters start getting frustrated (or start looking for the curveball) and they get themselves out. Seems to be closing his eyes more and taking more time in between pitches (to the point where he’s delivered some with 1 second left on the clock). Keep doing whatever you’re doing. And glad that he’s finally gotten a major rhythm with Diaz.
it’s looking that way … 5 hits 1 run for us 0-0 for them we need to keep it that way otherwise we will lose
