If Tucker needs the DL, they can DL him and call up an outfielder. I know they want a long relief guy but wouldn't the 24 hours have expired already so you didn't have to DFA Straily? Makes me think something else happened because doing the Straily for Asher swap is all just about how you time the transactions with MLB.

still don't understand why they don't just play valbuena at third and lowrie at first when they're both in the lineup, unless it's because they are getting lowrie all the reps they can at third because they expect anyone other than valbuena to be our 1st baseman down the stretch (white? reed? waiver claim/trade?).

And he may be the worst option as your bench position player, as he offers no value outside of the desperation pinch hit home run.

He is a Hail Mary, essentially.

Figured it would be Lowrie at 1B & Valbuena at 3B in this scenario. Lowrie has experience at 1B & is also listed at 6' foot compared to Valbuena at 5'10..

I see Lowrie at Whole Foods pretty regularly, hes probably about 5'9 (not sure how tall Valbuena really is).

Can't believe Francona left him in the game after walking the bases loaded. Absurd.

Houston and Cleveland have to be 1 and 1A in sports heartbreak.

Wow, the Angels had 1 on with 2 out in the bottom of the ninth and then the Cleveland pitcher (Allen) just lost control and was throwing wild pitches and walking people. That's two blown leads for the Tribe in this series... thanks for not much!

Astros need to get a W tonight and salvage at least a game from the Rangers.
