All 4 batters swung at high fastballs. Bourn made contact. Tejada swung and missed badly at one but ended up walking. Pence and Lee struck out on high fastballs. There must be something deceptive about Millwood's delivery of that pitch as JD was saying.
looks like wandy is having another Herpes flareup. and it looks like he's gonna get rocked in the 1st inning again.
Bourn got robbed there. He should be on first. The ump all of a sudden expanded his zone. That was clearly Ball 4.
Millwood has thrown 31 balls to only 27 strikes, the ump is calling a tight zone... and we continue to lack patience and swing at bad pitches.
Well, our league low 5.5 innings per start looks like it's about to take another hit, meaning our 3rd most used bullpen is about to get further taxed.
Going to the game tomorrow... My son said, "dad, why isn't cooper taking wandy out...he sux.."...brought a tear to my eye...
And our old buddy Jason Jennings seals the deal, guaranteeing the Rangers their third straight Silver Boot...
Silver boot right to the nads. The Rangers pound on us relentlessly. They're Ron Jeremy. We're Christy Canyon.
Why are we still batting Berkman 5th? His high OBP suggests he should still be in the top 3 spots. At least bat him ahead of Lee for god sakes.
We need to put an end to this. And this. I agree. Berkman needs to be hitting 3rd or 4th, ahead of Lee. His slump is long behind him. Bourn Pence Berkman Lee Miggy etc...
Probably because he's been hitting better since he started batting 5th and Coop doesn't want to mess with it, afraid that his numbers will go back down if he moves him back to #3.
Berkman came into the season with a shoulder problem. I think that may have been affecting his bat speed or something. He's been walking at his normal rate all year so his eye never left him. It just seemed like his body wasn't responding early on. He's been making good, solid contact for a few weeks now. I don't think moving him to 3rd or 4th will do anything but help the team score more runs.
That's horse **** managing if that's the case. Berkman can be a good hitter no matter where he is in the lineup (3-4-5). He's proven that over his illustrious career. He needs to be in the position where he helps the team the most. If he's getting on base like he has been (which he's been doing his ENTIRE career), he needs to get the most AB's possible for a quality hitter (ie - batting in the 3 spot). This is even more needed if Pence continues to tear the cover off the ball, as he'll now have somebody on base when he does so.
Apparently, Geary accepted the assignment to RR after being outrighted instead of opting for free agency. This is how he fared in his debut: http://www.roundrockexpress.com/default.asp?PageId=22&stats=g_box&gid=2009_06_16_rreaaa_nasaaa_1
Come on we should beat up on Vicente Padilla. The guy brings his gas can every time he comes to the mound not to mention Roy O' is pitching. I do not think we win this series.
I was thinking great news, then I clicked on the link. It is hard to believe what has happened to him. At 32, how do you go from being a great setup man to getting rocked in AAA?
