look dude, bradley ausmus doesn't have to reach base. you dont understand how valuable he is. he calls an amazing game, and has a degree from dartmouth. you know nothing about baseball. the fact that he hasn't reached base in half a month, throws out 1 out of every 10 baserunners, and has a CERA of 6 means nothing. you don't understand the intangibles that he brings to the table and how he is far superior to every other catcher in mlb history. what, you think you know more than roger clemens and the astros management?????????
Right, catcher's and pitchers get cut slack. Besides, since today is my birthday, they have to win for me.
Nice shot by Lamb. He's really driving it well this season. Anybody else find the Kevin Mench story funny? They call him Shrek because he's a big guy, and for some reason he couldn't find any shoes to wear because his feet kept growing when he was 27. hmmmmmmmmmm.
It was a pretty funny story, although I find the story of the Astro's offense in the last 10-20 games even funnier
Yea... one of the most visible signs of a GH excess is if you notice an abnormal increase in shoe size over the previous year or so. That's crazy that nobody has even thought about mentioning that connection with Mench.
Ausmus isn't playing today cause Munson is Wandy's personal catcher. It's been said ad naseum but since you must continue with this tired schtik I'll say it again; Oswalt, Pettite, Clemens WANT him behind the plate and that my friend is good enough for me. The things he does, like Everet, don't necessarily show up in the box score. And the reality is, the team shouldn't have to depend on him to score runs and get on base consistently; Ensberg, Berkman, Bidge, Ensberg, Wilson, Lance, Lamb..these are the guys that need to produce offense..and none of them have been getting it done as of late. Now since I mentioned Biggio's name I guess I should expect a counter argument with him. Tired arguments. --whoops, Buccholz is pitching today...well, he's Buccholz personal catcher too! But seriously, I'm fine with Ausmus there. The team has done just fine in the 5-10 years that he's been here. Next season though, might be time to let him retire and upgrade that position, and maybe give up on Jason Lane, trade while he still has some value (a change of scenery could do him good)
lolol....takes you halfway through the game to realize that wandy isn't pitching. looks like you're a really knowledgable fan! also, show me the quotes where roy insists on having ausmus behind the plate? and why does pettitte's opinion matter? lol...people like you have no need to post. we understand that you have no opinion of your own, you just blindly assume that every opinion of our awful management is the right one. we get it.
This one's in the bag! Kudos to the Astros on a great game! I hope Taylor can get the complete game shut-out and/or Lamb can hit for the cycle. There's NO WAY the Rangers are coming back. Even Lidge couldn't blow this one. Nah uh. OHHHHHHHHHHH....WE (LAMB) WAS ROBBED ON A HR!!!!! THEY TOOK ERR JOBS!!!!
Jesus.... WHAT a catch by Matthews. Funny that a HR there would have been better for the team... but a single would end up being more "memorable" because it would have given Lamb the cycle.
