I don't like Ensberg batting third. If Garner is insistent on playing Ensberg in front of Berkman, they need to be 2 and 3. The guy in the worst slump on the team should not be batting third.

does it really matter at this point? when you have 6 players in your lineup who do not know how to hit a baseball, it doesn't matter at all who bats where.

does it bother anyone else how Garner changes the lineup almost every game? I mean, I know that just about everyone is slumping, but I wish he would pick a lineup and just stick with it for a few games in a row.

Yeah needs to pick a lineup and stick with it...I think changing things around so much is only gonna further these guys slumps.

What a major funk this is..now both Clemens and Oswalt, are two best starters are getting hosed by the offense.

This has annoyed me as well. We haven't had the same lineup two days in a row since the Cubs series.

    My thoughts on the game:

    1) Great night for baseball...

    2) Astros bats do suck ass...

    3) Bad collision in the outfield...

    4) Roy, Roy, Roy...

    5) Nosebleeds weren't all that bad...

    6) Nice eye candy in the stands

    7) We need another bat...

All in all a great night and I got to tell you, I'm glad I got a Lexus because of the free valet this season...That rocked...

    So what's the number now?

We've scored 1 run in 28+ straight innings ?!

God...this funk sucks! The guys on FSSW were saying we'll see today if it's either that we've played really hot teams that have shut us down, or if we are really sucking, since the Rangers are not a hot or good team. Looks like it's all us.

It's funny how close this team is in players to last year's WS team. We're in a similar, precarious situation where we have to play extremely well in the 2nd half to make the playoffs. I mean...miracles don't grow on trees. This idea that we can play f-ed up baseball the first half and make some gigantic run in the second half...is some kind of smoke and mirrors campaign. Currently, I would say our team has been exposed as far as weaknesses in every way possible this first half. If it can get any worse, then our team may crash and burn on a team flight. The Astros are asking us to buy into another 2nd half miracle run. I guess their going to take their Xanax for the 2nd half. I'm not optimistic about our chances at making the playoffs. While we know it can happen, other teams are gunning for this team and we may not have the same fortune we have had. Our pitching is no longer considered anywhere near the best. I don't recall our pitching being this bad...even during our 15-30 streak last season. I just don't see another happy ending. Bring in the team shrink or something cause this team is mentally killing themselves. We know they have the ability...it's the mindset they don't have currently. Like Roy said, where's the f-ing fun at? This isn't Abu Gharib prison. Play some f-ing ball!

I'm just glad the rest of the NL central has sucked so bad that we haven't fallen out of the race.

Ausmus hasn't reached base since June 18th?!

    That's a hell of a slump.

This team needs a tombstone, Michael Barret or something to set off a spark. You would think the return of one of the best pitchers in the game would provide that.
