As always, no PBP in the thread. If you need that try one of the game cast sites. Keep discussion to this series. If it is not about this series it goes somewhere else. 9-5 Henry Sosa, RHP vs. James McDonald, RHP 12:35 on My20 9-6 Brett Myers, RHP vs. Brad Lincoln, RHP 6:05 on My20 9-7 J.A. Happ, LHP vs. Brian Burres, LHP 6:05 on My20
Yea, Paredes is raw. Gonna be a looooong next few years. The excitement of watching the kids will wear off fast. At least we're headed in the right direction. Too bad we didn't start sooner.
Sosa isn't a bad 5th starter. The Kepp trade might end up being a big win for the Stros. Too bad we never give him any run support.
Got me thinking..... Houston Pitchers R/S Aneury Rodriguez (3.76) Bud Norris (5.21) Jordan Lyles (5.36) Brett Myers (5.40) Wandy Rodriguez (5.48) Henry Sosa (5.66) J.A. Happ (5.92) Nelson Figueroa (8.38) http://espn.go.com/mlb/stats/pitching/_/league/nl/sort/runSupportAvg/qualified/false/type/expanded-2 Sosa is getting more R/S than most it seems.
One blowout can really, well, blow those numbers out of proportion for guys like Sosa and Figueroa who don't have many starts.
Jimmy wasn't ready for this level and everyone knew it but he has handled himself quite well. Encouraged to see what becomes of Paredes next season, would love to see him develop into a Bill Spiers type SUPER utility weapon.
He's played great this year. Sure he has had a few mistakes in the field and on the bases, but I have hopes that he will be better than a super utility player.
