At least Wandy was able to stop this "offensive juggernaut" that is the Pirates... good showing by him today.
what can ya say about today, other than it's the same ****ing **** , time after ****ing time. 2 runs, 7 innings? ironic isn't it? wandy doesn't give up 18 runs and ends up being the losing pitcher.
Are you even watching the game? Here is the inning in which Wandy gave up 2 runs: Bad hop grounder to Berkman (ruled a single) that could have been played. Walk Out without the runners advancing Grounder to Lamb that he dropped and then still got the guy at first but the umpire blew the call. Solid single to right that Scott misplayed and 2 runs scored. They may have held the runner at 3rd had Scott fielded it cleanly. Strikeout Out
call up pence. hell at the very worst, it's a NEW face striking out, grounding out, and doing everything possible to not drive in runs.
10 more batters left on base today through 8 innings. All we had working early in the season was timely hitting. Nothing now. Gotta get those bats working! Is this our 2nd time being swept by the Pirates?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was watching the game. I know wandy was pitching good, but thats not the issue. The thing is, game is 1-0 Astros and bases loaded with 1 out in the 6th wandy coming to bat. Knowing you this team cant score a run for god sake. Don't you prefer getting your chance with palmeiro or other pinch hitter that can get at least a run out of that inning? Or you rather lose the game by a run? We are losing the game by a run now. I don't care about wandy getting his 7 inning of works because he's pitching good, I care about winning. And for those saying the reason is that we played 16 inning last night, dont you know Pittburgh played that game too? because the opposing pitcher went just 5 inning.
Just make sure you blow up the New York Yankees and defending champion St. Louis Cardinals while you're at it; they're playing just as poorly.
Not that russian88 actually has any sort of point, he doesn't. Still, it gets old people constantly pointing to other teams and saying "hey, look at XXX and XXX, boy they're doing just as bad as we are, whew." The yankees and cardinals aren't going to make the playoffs for us, or get berkman/lee/scott/insert entire astros batting lineup here.... out of their slumps
' Armas had thrown over 100 pitches and he pitched into the 6th inning. If Rodriguez had thrown that many pitches, he probably would have been out as well.
