Its been almost 2 weeks since i shaved....I dont think i can take it much longer though its starting to itch pretty bad. Maybe if I shave a star (logo) into my cheek/sideburns then that would ease it down a bit...
I'm not sure if there are rules about this, but my guess is they'll try to get it in today no matter what time.
My company has an office across the street from the ballpark. I just called a friend there, and he said it is coming down pretty hard right now. It should let up though for them to get the game in this afternoon,
Hypothetical: If the Astros get rained out today, and they end Sunday tied with STL. Will they both have to make up the games on Monday or do they go straight to a play-in game? From a team perspective I would want to go straight to the play in game. If they are within a game of each other though (one team is up by one) then they'll have to play the make ups.
I dunno... cause if they're tied, and you're with the Astros, wouldn't you rather have the Cards play the Giants first (a decent team) while the Astros tangle with the Pirates again (a not so decent team)? You can win the division right then and there if things go your way...
Astros radio News Radio 740am Sports Radio 1300am I would try this one Pirates radio News Radio 1020am They worked last year but I'm not sure if they still do. Make sure to start the stream early.
The Brewers owe us after knocking us out of the playoffs a couple years ago (thank you Jeroime Robertson).
Not if you haven't started already... don't do anything different than what you've been doing this last week. Any updates from those of you with 740 on the status of the game? I'm guessing it'll be delayed, but have they said for sure?
I have one problem. I've put on the same clothes when I've gotten home from work every day this week. I can't do that because I can't wear torn shorts and an old Texans t-shirt to work. I will fully accept any blame for the team losing today. The lineup is out... today's lineups
But if the game is delayed from the rain you can! EDIT: ugh. Benching Huff for Lane again, just because it's a lefty... I don't like that Phil.
Its our glorious facing the lefty lineup: Willy (really needs to take advantage of the lefty on the mound with bunts) Ensberg (good for 2 walks) Berkman (overdue for some righty power hits) Scott (wonderkid) Burke (overdue for a big game) Lane (had some good swings last night) Everett Ausmus Oswalt (our best hitting pitcher)
Huff comes in as soon as we get in the bullpen... along with Lamb. Sometimes its great to have those weapons available when the game is still close late. Our success will depend more on if Berkman starts to hit left-handed pitching again, and if Burke can have a big game.
I agree with this ... I mainly want Scott in the game regardless, and I don't mind Jason playing against lefties too much. So long as he is not batting cleanup or something r****ded like that. Phil has definitely improved his managing the past couple weeks ... wish it had happened earlier.
There are too many different variables to consider when looking at this team from day to day. Garner's managing is dictated by how the players perform both in the present, and how they've responded in the past... once a player stops living up to their track records, it becomes problematic. Lane and Ensberg are a manager's worst nightmare, because of their inconsistency. You play well, you'll get more chances... but you can't bench somebody forever for going through a rough stretch.
