I'm going to develop a crick in my neck from all the head-shaking-in-amazement I'm doing lately. I freakin' love the Houston Astros. What other baseball team would you want to be a fan of? What other baseball team would do this to you?
What a night of baseball. Astros HAVE to win and do in 15th. Phillies HAVE to win and do in 15th. Cards HAVE to win and King Albert hits a dramatic homer in the 8th. Pennant baseball my friends...unfreakingbelievable!!!
Damn. Well hopefully Milwaukee can pull out a game or two, but we would still need to win out. And we have the Braves this weekend. Will be tough but if we make the playoffs then we need to be THAT good and win out. If not I guess it's just like in highschool doing your homework at the last minute, after 3 years of having to be this damn hot down the stretch it was just bound to catch up with us. But one thing for sure -- this is the way to make your fans happy. Playing this furious down the stretch has the ENTIRE NATION's eyes on the 'Stros!!!!
RAIN ALL DAY TOMMOROW!!! That would royally suck... if both the Astros and the Cards have to play OTHER teams on Monday.
Damn straight. When I gave up on them weeks ago, they didn't! Year in and year out they FIGHT to the last minute. This team DOES have heart and I'm very very proud of those guys and to be an Astros fan (though sometimes I'm not a very good one)!
I work from home tomorrow, thank God for Highspeed int.,laptops, and VPNs!!!!!!!!!!!!wooot woot and off on Friday Go Astros...........what a ballzy move from Garner in the 11th....loading the bases and getting the final out. Oh and Wheeler was good too.
would that be a bad thing? we get to rest tom since its a day game...and we can push the rotation out (maybe) and catch a team that may not want to play on monday or would the league just cancel both games if its tied on sunday? and play the playoff game b/t the two?
I'll take comfort in the fact that when Pujols hit the HR in game 5 off Lidge, it looked like it could turn that series around, but it didn't give the Cards any momentum, hopefully this on will do the same. Marquis sucks, maybe he'll get hammered by Milwaukee. Lets Go Brewers!!
I think, also, special note should be made of the two scoreless innings Brad Lidge hurled. Doesn't mean he's immediately back to being a dominating closer; all it means is he gave us a solid performance in relief when we needed one, and that's good enough, today. Well done, Brad.
I think the Cards have the advantage playing at home against the pitiful Brewers while the Astros ALWAYS have fits in Atlanta. Plus, this is the first year in over 12 that the Braves are not going to the postseason and they are going to want to play spoiler since the Astros knocked them out the past two season!!!!
