To allow Wheeler to pitch more than 1 inning since we've used so many pitchers already ... tough decision to make

Being the road team in extra innings is so much more stressful!

Looks like Piazza is out for the Pads so the Cards can't run wild on them any more

The only "questionable" move is taking Huff out for pinch-runner Bruntlett in the 8th. Bruntlett is still in there, and not having Everett's glove will be somewhat minimized by getting EB some AB's.

The other moves were all made with pitching in mind... our bullpen only has a few bullets in there, and you can't have them sitting on their hands in a must-win game.

Miller, Wandy, Springer, Albers, Buchholz, Nieve are still there. This should be Sampsons day to throw on the side, so he might be available.

Still have Gimenez, Munson, & Jimerson.

    Sampson can ph as well.

What about Nieve and Albers? Isn't Sampson going to pitch in the ATL series for us?

Padres have runner in scoring position 1 out

Munson and Gimenez are the only position players left. Miller, Albers, Buccholz, Wandy and Nieve are left in the bullpen.

I agree with that. Is Bruntlett really that much faster on the base path than Huff? I never thought of Huff to be an Ausmus/Daryl Ward type slowpoke.

Cameron can do it again... lets go Mike (would have always loved for the Astros to get him, somehow).
