They're done, this series is irrlevant. The fork's still in and they're coming off the grill.

    (C'mon Astros, prove me wrong.)

5-1 in the next 6 and I think we've got a realistic shot. The Pirates have helped us out before this season ... Time to take 3 more from em!

a buddy of mine has a pretty large one at over 83.5, which means that they have to end the season on a 13 game winning streak, but we were trying to figure out if we could lose one and win the playoff. would be a crazy way to win a bet, huh?

    Tonight's lineup...

    1. Willy (hopefully he can have productive games... .276 isn't that great for a guy with no extra-base capabilities).
    2. Lamb (lambo)
    3. Berkman
    4. Scott
    5. Huff
    6. Biggio
    7. Everett
    8. Ausmus
    9. Pettite

Its always good to have a lead before the Cardinals take the field... you know they have to be lookin at that scoreboard, and wondering whehter or not they'll be getting any help.

I don't expect them to lose with Carpenter on the mound... but if they do, I can't imagine how tight that team will be by tommorow.

Ha! Andy Petitte's BA is higher than Jason Lane's.

Jeez.... you could see that coming a mile away.

You've got a three run lead, nobody on base, the count is 2-0 to Bay... throw the ball right down the middle and hope he doesn't crush it.

    He did.

Alright Andy... you can stop throwing it down the middle (even though Scott screwed up big-time on the double).

The Cards are definitely a little desperate tonight. Edmonds back in the lineup.

And I don't want Pettite back....let him go, he is another Bob Knepper, good for a couple of years, but in a steep decline, IMHO.

    5.28 ERA before the break
    2.8 ERA after the break

Definitely looks like a decline to me! :)

yeah, he has had some good games, but he seems to have lost a lot this year and struggled a lot more....not to mention his elbow is balky.
