It's a battle of who can put a less prototypical 3 hitter...Chris Burke vs. Freddy Sanchez.

Getting our asses kicked once again by one of the worst teams in baseball. Arent you all so happy with the improvements the Astros made to this team in the offseason? Astros management and their blind apologists on this board are a joke.

It is possible to be a true fan of this team and also realize how badly they screwed the pooch.

There is a term for people like you in poker. It's called "results oriented". And people who think in "results oriented" terms are some of the biggest fish in the game.

I guess you haven't watched Rivera, Wagner, or Eckersley over their careers. They have all gone through stretches like this. Their management didn't panic and give up faith in them.

Lidge is one of the best closers in baseball. You haters have no clue what you're saying. And I am certainly glad that you have no input into the Astros personnel decisions.

you are a sickening, sickening hyprocrite, and a complete loser. I encourage all of you posters to stop responding to this guy's posts, and simply ignore him. all he does is double-speak and bash other posters. and the poor guy really has no understanding of the game of baseball.

Where have I bashed any posters prior to being bashed myself? Answer me that please.

And I am no hypocrite at all. I believe in Lidge and I always have. If anything, the fair weather fans on here are the hypocrites. They are quick to praise "Lights Out Lidge" when he's rolling, but let him go through a rough stretch and they are ready to pull the plug on him.

I am a fan of the Astros team, not their ****ty management.

Now, do you care to try again?

Now go on and respond with some typical ignorant blather such as "You're an idiot". or "Everyone ignore him" or "You know nothing". Guess it's easier to be like that since you can't refute anything that I say.

I believe I made the comment that Lidge's new name is "Lights Up Lidge". So please refer to him as this from now on.

Look at the post above yours.

So you're glad we don't have any input into the apparently already horrible management decisions? Well alright then.

    You've already been refuted heavily.

One example, you saying that the Astros are "cheap" when they actually have one of the highest payrolls in baseball.

    CASE CLOSED.

Umm, yes. I don't see what is so hard for you to understand.

Just because the Astros make some really ****ty decisions doesn't mean that alot of the fools on the board here couldn't make things even worse on top of that with their uninformed, knee jerk reactions.

I am aware that the Astros tried to trade Lidge this offseason. That's just another one of their horrible moves. Thankfully, that deal fell through.

Now we still have Lidge on this team. Lidge is still the man. But he goes through a rough stretch and half the so-called "fans" on here are ready to give up on him. Yes, I am glad that these people don't have input on the Astros' personnel decisions. As it's obvious to see, the majority of posters on here don't know their asses from a hole in the ground.

Being in the majority doesn't make you right. It only shows how large the clueless population is.

Sigh... some people just refuse to admit when they're wrong. Whatever though, I'm done.

Let's just pray June turns out like it did last season. If they continue this into June I will be worried.

Right now, I'm disapointed in their current play. But not quite worried.

This is getting alarming, the road record is atrocious, and now we are losing against the dregs of the league.

Were the last 2 years comebacks the norm, or an aberation?

I just don't see this team as getting to the playoffs in it's current form.

They need more punch in the lineup, whether that comes from the bench, the minors, or a trade, and they need better pitching EVERYWHERE.

The only pitcher still dealing is Oswalt, the rest are all struggling compared to last year.

This is not shaping up to be a good year.

Everyone notice how he side stepped the issue of the payroll?

This guy was against a Lidge for Tejada swap? Even if Lidge had improved his numbers from last year that would have been a great deal for us. Shortstop is the 2nd most important position defensively, and it's the 2nd hardest to get production from. Usually you have to sacrifice offense for defense, but with Tejada you get both. He's easily worth Lidge and much more. Conversely... "closer" is an easily replaceable "position". It's just a relief pitcher designated as the best by the ballclub. Oakland routinely takes middle relievers, has them turned into "closers" by viture of just writing them in there, and boosting value.

This kid knows nothing about baseball. How old are you buddy?
