Gallo is as bad as Dan Micelli, I just don't see how they get out of this...you have to walk the bases loaded now to put up a force out at every base.

A lead in the 8th and the 17th...and the bullpen blows em both....

Sure, this team is playoff bound...they are just slumping

Wow. Gallo just bought himself a release.

A wild pitch on an IBB in the 18th inning is flat out inexcusable.

The bullpen had gone 10 1/3 of 1 run ball before he came in.

True, but they blew the lead in the 8th....and the 17th, so even when they pitch well, they don't pitch clutch.

    ROFLMAO !!

    Typical Astros game of 2006....

Willy with a GREAT throw and Munson can't pull the underwear out of his vagina and hold onto the ball.

What a joke this team is.....

    DANG IT !

Only 3rd series the pirates have won all year...

But, the brightside is that we will be under .500 tomorrow and get to watch Roger sign with Boston.

    Man, this one's on Gallo.

Borkowski got the shallow fly, Wily made the decent throw, but Munson got rolled by Bay couldn't hold on...and I can't blame him.

Wily's throw could've been a little stronger - it 2 bounced. But we had a chance to make a play and blew it.

He was scared of Jason Bay hitting him and wasn't even looking at the ball when it was coming into him.

NO HEART! He might as well go play softball if he is going to be that much of a pansy

And to add salt to the wound, Burke was safe in the 8th.....man, this season is turning ugly fast.

But, as everyone will say, it is a long season, and slumps happen, the team is not all that bad.....

I hope they are right, I just don't see it, I see an average defensive team, and a WAY below average hitting and a seriously struggling pitching team.

No crap, I never get nervous when 6'2, 200 pound men are charging my ass. Nobody's to blame but Gallo.

How as a professional pitcher do you throw a ball for an intentional walk over the catcher's head? Hopefully that will shock Garner awake.

Fair point but Munson should have held that ball, that is what quality big league catchers do....however Gallo and his amazing Wild pitches is the main culprit.

What I don't understand is why Garner coddles these guys.....cutting Gallo would send a message, heck cut Gallo and ship Jason Lane to Round Rock...that will send a message....

Wow...to play 18 innings and have everything get ****ed by a wild pitch on a freakin IBB. I don't see how Gallo could still be on this team any further...we've got Trever Miller, and Gallo doesn't even throw harder than about 89. I don't even see how he's touched the big leagues.

Munson shouldn't have even been in the game this late. That one's on Cruz for pinch hitting with Ausmus so late...there's no way you can expect a catcher to last that long and keep focus and concentration. Munson did a hell of a job for what they were asking him to do though. If Gallo doesn't airmail a toss to the plate it may be a different story.

    *sigh*

None of this should've mattered. Burke was safe and it was absurdly obvious... he actually had the ball in the other hand when he made the tag! There's no way the ump can't see the ball in his bare hand. That's terrible, terrible umpiring and should be met with strict and immediate discipline from the league. Of course, it won't be, but I can dream.

Well, look on the bright side: we now have a clear decision before the Astros management. If they retain Gallo then we can jump all over Purpura with a clean conscience. What is sports without a good management scapegoat?

Who said Munson is quailty big league catcher? This is his first season catching in the big leagues. This game shows Mike Gallo is the worst pitcher in all of baseball. I am serious when I say that. Bring up Chris Sampson and send him back home to Italy.
