Already surpassed as the 4th best contact hitter on the Team. He reminds me Josh Hamilton but a shorter guy.
Theres no data to suggest he's struggling at home simply due to the batters eye. There are too many variables in this game to pin-point just one aspect here/there. Some years guys like Bregman crush lefties... then other years they don't. Some years players have crazy road/home splits. Look at Witt this year... he's babe ruth in KC and a ho-hum pedestrian all-star on the road. Having said that, he'll probably turn MMP into his personal wrecking ground this weekend. You can apply the Crash Davis winning streak speech to the rest of it... maybe Yordan is getting laid too much at home vs. on the road, maybe his not changing diapers on the road keeps him focused, maybe he's eating better on the road? There's so many freaking things in this game... I'm still constantly surprised by it every year.
The losses have been pretty brutal since the end of the winning streak. The horrible throw by Dezenzo that bungled a straight forward double play that Arrighetti ended up dropping. That's the White Sox 1 run loss. The 2nd and 3rd no one out no runs scored vs Boston when it looked like we would take the lead. A 5-5 tie going to the 8th in the other loss to the Red Sox. The Orioles should have been a sweep, we were the better team. Much better. That series was like a golfer who hit all 18 GIR and couldn't make hardly any putts, leaving a great score out there on the course. We've gone 6-7 since the 8 game winning streak, we should be 10-3 instead. We would be 1/2 game behind Cleveland for the bye, 3 games back of the best record in the AL.
Going into this road trip, with the quality of opponents I’d taken 4-4 all day so 3-4 isn’t horrible. Just sucks about the what ifs but yea you move on. Players have short regular season memories, fans, not so much…..
I kept asking for 7-7 for these tough 2 weeks. We need to take 3 of 4 from KC (which I predict we do) to get to 7-7 and survive.
Yet they keep changing it because someone is complaining about it. I would be shocked if he isn’t that someone or part of the group that is if it’s multiple guys. It might (probably?) be all mental at this point but he clearly believes the batters eye is an issue.
Astros need 3 wins minimum to have any chance of getting a Top 4 record. I'm more worried about that than Seattle.
Unfortunately not the 3rd best scoring team. Lack of clutch hitting and small ball the main cause of that.
It was somebody who had an issue with certain lefty release points overlapping the newer fan areas out there. Bregman is probably the only one with clout, and struggles against lefties that he previously crushed, that would have that ability to induce change. The CF area since the renovations has never been ideal…. But it gets magnified by pitchers of certain heights/handedness.
At this point, if I'm just looking at numbers...Verlander and Blanco are the 2 left out of the playoff rotation. I'm going Framber, Brown, Kikuchi, Arrighetti based on results since June 1 (or since they were traded to us). I'm realistic and realize that Verlander is going to be in the rotation regardless. But Blanco is the odd man out and maybe long man in the pen if I'm creating the roster right now.
Man that's harsh. They have been up less than a month. I don't think they would be playing if they weren't needed. Sometimes it takes time I get it, it's frustrating.
I would imagine Altuve and Yordan both have this same “clout”, especially given Bregman is probably gone after this season. And yes that was the issue last year, that’s why they painted the wall next to the batters eye. They changed the entire batters eye color this time…so doesn’t matter left or right handed.
