After 3 innings of relief, Astros relievers have thrown 37 pitches. Phillies relievers 80 (not a typo).
So the relief pitchers have combined for 9 innings and 2 hits allowed, with 12Ks in 5 innings for the Phils. That Bastardo lives up to his name.
I'm sure our team is ready for a rest over 4 1/2 hours in. Hopefully Singleton can win the game for us and make this watch worth my while. EDIT: my predictive abilities are gone, unless Singleton bats again (which is very possible).
I think our players are extending the game to keep the visiting chef working. Mmmmoooorrrreeee cheesesteak.
I hope we win tonight (or in the morning, whenever it gets done) And I know that 16 K's is not close to a record But we have had 10 different guys strike out at least once, wonder what the record is for that? Tried to look it up with no luck Keuchel was really good tonight, or last night, or whenever it was he pitched last
No patience? Even with an 8 pitch 14th inning, the Phillies relievers have thrown 130+ pitches in 7 innings.
The record for strikeouts by a team in an extra inning game is 26. I don't think we'll get that, thankfully. Our situation is bleak.
Fingers crossed....Howard with a HR tonight...only Philly run.....is brought to the plate with an intentional walk.....
