Wow, Lane got a hold of that one!

Always nice to score the runner on 3rd with 1 out -- I was worried Lane wasn't gonna come through.

Imagine if Lane was our everyday centerfielder with scott playing right. I'm not convinced Burke has earned a shot in the outfield.

    Go Stros!

I'd still rather have a guy who has historically hit for a high average, with decent OBP and occasional pop... along with good speed. Burke had a very good stretch of games last season, but also went into a slump (that coincided with Willy's hitting streak), and compiled with his shoulder injury... that led to decreased playing time.

Lane provides power... but mediocre average and OBP. You have to consider that Biggio will be a similiar hitter over the season, as will Everett and Ausmus. The offense cannot afford that many holes.

Now Pence is a whole nother issue... I'd pay to see that guy play anywhere.

Take a look at Lane's season so far other than that one swing, and you might see why. I think CF is definitely Lane's job for the taking if he plays well, but he had been a real disappointment until today. We'll see if he continues.

Terrible pitch to throw to a lefty... looks like another slugfest in Philly.

Does Woody always throw balls up in the zone like he is today?

Well, I know he is considered a fly ball pitcher...but I think he is struggling with control today.

Makes the call look even worse... the ump was actually CONFIDENT that he didn't miss it.

    Thanks, Morgan.

The glasses are helping your hitting, but apparently have dropped your intelligence.

    Alright MoBerg.

Now runner on 3rd with 1 out again for Lane...and he gets the job done!

(Also to point out, Lee's ability to make contact is a reason Berkman's at 3rd...he was fooled and swung at a bad pitch, but was able to make contact allowing Berkman to move up.)

4 RBI for Lane. FIRE GARNER!

Girardi's a really good announcer... he should be managing SOMEWHERE right now. (but is probably holding out to be the next Yankees manager).

    Astros road uniforms rule.

I think the Saturday uniforms should become the home uniforms. Get rid of the pinstripes. And since the Douche-backs are wearing red, get rid of the Sunday red.
