They are doing it on the NFL network too. Does ESPN own the NFL network? Anways they had a special on Bush and broke down some of his big plays and showed how defenses were keying on him and opening up other big plays for hsi teammates. Did anyone see that special? It was on last night.

What about all the guys on the NFL network? Can I rephrase your last sentence?

"Unfortunately for him, not everyone is as bias, close minded and hard-headed as "The Cat"."

Not counting returns, he is averaging 17.6. Including leading the league in receptions.

On that special on the NFL network last night they said he was on the field for 55% of the saints offensive plays, they were saying that isn't enough and he should be on the field more.

But, he was on the field for Deuce's 70 yard run, Bush ran an end around and brought a few defenders with them. Not taking any credit away from Deuce cause it was an awesome run, but Bush did bring a few defenders with him all the way to the weak side of the field on the fake.

What true break away receivers are faster than him? Who in the NFL runs faster than a 4.3 40? Maybe Steve Smith or Santana Moss? Maybe?

apparently everyone who has caught enough receptions to have their yards per reception in the records for this season so far. I don't know about forty times, I'm talking production.

I agree with jgreen here. Speedways there are few players faster, including break away WRs. But Bush doesn't have Smith or Moss's ball and route skills, Bush has good hands and is great on dumps, that is why his receptions are high but his yards per reception are low.

Bush does a lot of things well. But he isn't the threat Deuce is running the ball, and he isn't a great verticle WR threat either. So far he is certainly closer to his detractors projections--that be is more of an outstanding scat back/all purpose type player than a workhorse tailback or unguardable verticle threat (Steve Smith, Randy Moss), than he is to what his chief proponents thought he already was (that he is Barry part2/more explosive version of Marshall Faulk).

That's all on Carroll. 10 months later, I still can't think of a single reason why they didn't line him up in the slot & at least think about something other than a run between the tackles (with 8 horns in the box). Just dumb.

Maybe I'm just thinking stupid things, but I thought this was an "Everything Mario Williams" thread.

Be happy with your "running receiver". Come back when he is averaging more than 4 yards a carry or maybe gets a 100 yard game. Heck, come back if he gets like 80 RUSHING YARDS in a game. That being said....Auto draft drafted him for me and Im not very happy with the ONE TD he has this yr.

Even if you can make the case that he is a good reciever, who cares?

The texans didnt draft a single WR in the draft, why the **** do you think they should have drafted one with the first overall pick? We have 2 former pro bowlers.

Fastest player in the league - easily jerome mathis, he is olympics material.

I went to nfl.com the other day and some author is making a case for bush to be rookie of the year. How gay is that?

Couple of questions... is it possible that NO's game plan involves getting Reggie Bush the ball often on short passes as a way to get him lots of touches in the flat where he can use his speed and evasiveness? Would that acount for the relatively short YPC? And would it also suggest comparing his TPC with typical yardage in more traditional running plays?

Seems we often hear commentators observe "team X uses the short pass as a "running play" or "that play was eessentiall a running play".

Second question... why do folks complain about the number of Reggie Bush posts when there are a whole slew of posts that say "over-hyped by espn", "he isn't the next gale sayers", "he is just a decoy", he doesn't have many running play yards", and my favorite, "where poster x when Bush had a bad game?"... etc?

seems the number of Mario WIlliams posts will increase when he gets more sacks, tackles, tips, etc. Since folks are pretty confident that will happen, seems folks should just relax, no?

Mario Williams has more sacks than Reggie Bush and Vince Young combined.

Reggie Bush can get sacks while playing offense.....(it was meant to be one of those Chuck Norris type sayings)
