Well got his first sack and second too. Has Bush got a TD yet?

    Prediction for the week:

    - Bush fans quiet: 11 rushes for 22 yards, 4 catches for 48 yards, 1 fumble, Saints loss
    - Young fans a little noisy: 14-29, 155 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT, 1 fumble, Titans loss
    - Mario fans howling: 1.5 sacks, 1 tackle, 1 assist, Texans win

F*ck him. I hate his freakin' squeaky voice on the radio. I freakin' hate McClain with a passion. When the Texans first were on their initial two seasons, where was he? He was in Tenne-freakin'-see covering "The Titans", when he writes for a HOUSTON paper. I freakin' hate his ass. Anyway, this is a Mario Williams thread, and I am happy now he got his SACKS. What the EFF is Mcstupid going to say now...? I freakin' hate John McClain. Did I mention I freakin' hate McClain? He can't even be OPTIMISTIC, like you say. I freakin' hate McClain.

Hopefully this will open up pandora's box for Mario. Not to take anything away from him, but he should really take Ryans out to dinner tonight.

I would like to see more penetration from Mario though, he isn't getting close enough at all, but glad to see him get his feet wet.

I freakin' HATE John McClain. I can't stand his freakin' voice on the radio... I change the station, even though I want to listen to some stats...... that's all I listen to.

He should have had another sack...he had Culpepper basically wrapped up, but couldnt bring him down.

I think he definitely did a decent job today, hopefully he can continue building on that.

Don't forget about the fact that Ron Dayne passed Reggie Bush for rushing yards on the season today- 153 yards to 147 (maybe the comparison isn't exactly fair- Dayne has played in 1 less game).

And what about the DeMeco Ryans fans?

Why is he always cutting to the outside? It takes a while to get to the quarterback when u have to go all around. Cant he just use his great physical ability to knock down the tackle and go straight at the quarterback? He could get to the qb faster and be able to hold on to him. Both of his sacks came when Culpepper was already going down so mario didnt have trouble holding on.

Not to hate on Mario, but he only had like 2 tackles or something including the sacks. If he cut in more often, he would have more.

Mario actually tried to go straight up with tackles in the first 3 games.
Offensive tackles are typically the strongest and biggest players on the field, trying to knock them down won't work 99.9% of the time. Going to the outside maybe gives him a chance of getting past them, but unlike in college, most NFL tackles have quick enough feet to stay with him.

I would really like to see Mario use more technique though, this could also be the coaching, but I would like to see more use of the hands (i.e. swim move) and I remember Madden talking about Bruce Smith's "huck move" where he would push a defender right under his shoulder pad to just knock him off balance and then run right in.

I also recall Bruce Smith saying he wanted to talk with Mario and maybe mentor him when we drafted him. I would love to have Mario just talk to him for a while.

Mario saved the game today... The stupid announcers missed the call. It was obvious that the pass on the 2-pt conversion was tipped, so I went back and watched the replay and who was it? Super Mario...

They showed an additional replay where the camera was behind the QB, giving you Culpepper's view, and that pass looked like it had a chance to be caught if Mario had not caused the ball to go higher by tipping it.

    WAY TO GO MARIO!!!!

I think the NFL will eventually change that tipped ball and give it to Mario, unless they just don't care about a stat like tipped balls.

Basically, Mario won the game for us today.

At this point, Maroney is making all of them look like amateurs... and that's including him splitting significant carries with Dillon (which is an excuse many people make for Bush's low numbers).

Maroney = stud = born to run in the NFL. Bush will be best utilized by a system that incorporates his strengths the most... like Martz had with Faulk in St. Louis... but he'll also need a dominant offensive line, a couple of Pro-Bowl WR's, and a great QB to make that all come together.

Not sure if you caught Maroney's 2nd TD run today...but it was sick. The guy can flat out run the ball. And he would look damn nice in a Texan's uni.

I love Maroney. Unlike Bush, he is a workhorse type of back. Call me traditional, but I'll take that type of RB over the pass-catching one (that can't run as well) any day.

Please let us land AP next yr..........

I saw that... and I also saw on the next possesion, how he broke a 30 yard run, and THREW a Bengal to the GROUND in the process.

Bush will be a playmaker... and a good reciever... but he doesn't posess the awesome power, that can be combined with some effective speed, that Maroney has already shown in just his 4th game.
