To all the people who watned Bush and have been gloating over Williams performance so far I say ha ha what a joke. If you think Mario hasnt lived up to his billing so far thats fine but how can you say Bush has? He has proven to be nothing but average at best. In fact the only people that have the right to gloat are the people that wanted DaBrick. Of all the players that were thought worth of the #1 pick he is the ONLY one that has shown worthy so far.
Bush has been far from impressive. Brick apparently has looked good. Regarless of what Bush or anyone else does it won't change the fact that Williams sucks. Bush got saved on 2 fumbles tonight. He's far from impressive and yet he still blows Williams out of the water. That's how bad Mario looks in my eyes. The person who brought up DBrick is probably right. Someone would have traded up, we didn't do out homework. My boys dad was just talking about how terrible Mario is (and he goes to every game).
Max is right; it was there. I can remember a few posters in particular who enjoyed telling everyone how they just didn't understand football by daring to question the pick. Problem is, I actually thought it possible they might be right. I still hope they are.
This makes no sense to me. Of xcourse a lot of people wanted VY or Bush over Williams and couldn't believe the pick (including almost every person you'd talk too) and while neither is setting the world on fire they still don't look as bad as Mario. Attack Vy or Bush fans as much as you want. Tell us how unimpressive they've been ect...,ect... That won't change the fact that we're Texans fans and our pick sucks. If we picked Bush or Vy then you could choose to b**** about their performances if you wanted. However, we chose an "impact defensive player". I am a Bush fan but I certainly would much rather have the Texans be successful. I am going to bash Williams cause he sucks, not because i like Reggie or VY.
Thanks for your permission. I think I will take your advice. Very unimpressive. No it wont but maybe you know it all draft nicks will realize that your choices arent panning out just yet either. Only 1 player out of the top 5 picks is looking better than average right now. And I am going to bash Bush because he is the most overhyped player to ever come out of college.
link Williams, the first pick in the draft, was in on three tackles and was part of a defensive line that couldn’t stop the run and failed to put pressure on Mark Brunell, who became the first quarterback in history to complete 22 consecutive passes in one game. “I was disappointed in his play,” Kubiak said about Williams. “There were some communication issues, and we’ll get it corrected. “He’d done some good things but not this week. He knows I’m disappointed in his play.” Kubiak emphasized that he wasn’t singling out Williams, who has yet to record a sack in three regular season and three preseason games. The coach was critical of his defense in general and his pass rush in particular.
2001- Michael Vick 2002- David Carr 2003- Carson Palmer 2004- Eli Manning Our Luck!! This team CANT DRAFT .... 2002 When everbody watching college football had heard about J. Peppers from NC then when DAVID CARR's names pop up before draft ... it was like WHO??? DAVID WHOOOO??? (honestly most of the people I know have NEVER heard of him until after the season was over) then 2006 When they WHOLE WORLD hears about Reggie Bush during the season ....... then right before the draft who do they bring up? WHOOOOO?? MARIO WHOOOOO??? that's right folks Super Mario Williams from NCST .... WHOOOOO???? (for real, who had heard of Mario Williams during the college season?) It seems like Mario was a make up for the J. Peppers draft since he help Carolina to the Superbowl.
I was absolutely shocked when the Texans took Williams, and still think it was an amazingly stupid decision. However, Bush isn't having the impact that I thought he would so far. No Gayle Sayers flashbacks at this point, and after watching him play in college, that surprises me. I would likely have taken VY, but it is too early to tell much about him. Frankly, the top three picks aren't exactly setting the league on fire at this point.
