yeah..i just heard on sportsradio recently that they're leaning more and more towards playing him inside.
So what? It seems like people like to keep bringing up Bush andd VY (and it's not their supporters for the most part either unless it's to defend them). Is it so right? Bush is playing more receiver because they happen to have Deuce McCallister whom they are also paying 50 million. I'm glad you're so thankful for that post. If you are unimpressed with Reggie or Vince so far I can't imagine how unimpressed with Mario you must be.
Wow, what a lame post. You're obviously biased towards Bush and you haven't even seen Cutler take an NFL snap. Neither has Leinart. Young is already getting reps and has already produced something. What about DeAngelo Williams? We have seen glimpses of his talents as well. You talk about beeing sick of the but if I was Maroney and read this post I'd be scared you were hiding outside my bushes.
Reggie Bush is a big part of the Saints gameplan. He is on the feild alot yet he hasn't scored a touchdown. He hasn't even had a run or reception as long as 25 yards. His longest punt return was 14 yards. He routinely gets tackled in the open feild. Most of the passes he catches are dump off passes that any RB in the NFL could catch. Yet he is the nest coming of Gale Sayers. You need to quit being dumb and listining to the hype machine (ESPN) and actually watch Bush play in a game. He has not been impressive AT ALL! This doesnt even deserve a response. Ok so Williams is an absolute joke so far but Bush has huge? Wiliams has gone up against 2 of the best offenses in the NFL and still has comparable stats to Dwight Freeny 2 tackles. Shaun Ellis 5 tackles. Andre Carter 6 tackles Mike Rucker 6 tackles Simeon Rice 4 tackles Erasmus James 2 tackles Mathias Kiwanuka 2 tackles Oh yeh none of them have a registered a sack. I guess they are all jokes. Yep no way to spin it, the proof is in the pudding. Bush has played against 2 of the worst defenses in the NFL and has a total of 72 yards rushing on 21 carries. (18 on one play) Hasnt scored a touchdown. Yes he has 15 cathes for 120 yards but that is not really that impressive when you consider most all of them have been dump off passes. Please stop being dumb and basing all your opinions on highlights you see on ESPN.
Ok, My mistake. 4.6 in 40 which is highly above the norm for DL. That still qualifies well for a speed rusher statistics. Which decries the notion that Mario should not be able to make a fairly quick transition to actually contributing to this defense and team because he's not a speed rusher. What? If he was a complete scrub, I sincerely doubt Coach Kubiak would be utilizing him so extensively. But, only time will tell who the true idiot is in this aspect. The Texans, the Titans or the Saints? Remember VY and Bush have more than their fair share of pressure to produce as well. If the Saints start losing watch how soon the "good vibrations" leave with the fans there. Reminders of previous years where they start great and then crash with a thud. VY no explanation needed. Collins has got to be on a very short leash. He sucks!
Possum. Don't forget that Bush is such a dangerous weapon out of the backfield to catch passes that he serves as a decoy and helps deuce get his rushing yards. Watch the game Monday night.
Thats like me saying Williams is such a threat to get to the QB that teams have to focus on him allowing his teamates to get sacks. Bush hasnt proved to be dangerous yet. He may someday but hasnt yet. Hes been nothing but average so far against bad teams. Absolutely. I watch almost every game that is televised. Gota love Tivo! Dont forget the Texans (your team) play this week too. Watch the game Sunday.
Ring ring..Hello, Kettle, this the pot......your black! Tell the truth, you are biased because you "the insider" said before the draft that we were drafting Bush. It was a sure thing right. Then we drafted Williams and you have been crying about it every since. All you do is hype Bush and knock Williams. If I were Bush and read all your posts I'd be scared you were hiding outside my bushes.
Mean Joe Green, Ed Too Tall Jones, Reggie White and Bruce Smith. None were speed/edge rushers and all took time to develope. I think every one of them would of been worthy of the #1 pick. Nope. Slowest guy in his group. http://www.nfl.com/draft/story/9270956 I agree. It would be nice to see steady improvement. What everyone needs to realize is that we drafted a guy with a rare combination of speed, size and strength. Yes he is fast for his size but he is not going to blow by tackles with just his speed. It will take time to develope technique. How much time depends on if and how fast he can absorb what the coaches teach him. He may end up being a bust but dam he seems like a good kid whos doing everything asked of him. Its not his fault the coaches have been moving him all over the line. He deserves a little time at one position and some good coaching before we all start dumping on the guy.
Hmmm ... from combine reports, Manny Lawson looks like he should've been the #1. 4.43 in 40 only one though really head and shoulders above Mario. It just figures. But outside of advantage at vertical leap and # of times lifting 225#, maybe he didnt merit the #1 pick.
he wasn't slowest, he was the fifth highest out of 20 or 30....with the guys ahead in his group being a bunch of 240 lb guys. 4.66 is blazing for a 280 lb DE.
Manny Lawson also has 2 NFL Sacks so far to justify your stance. It should also be noted that Manny Lawson is a linebacker and not a defensive end and thus he is expected to be faster than Williams.
Ok, so Lawson isnt a DL, DE. That explains why he's faster. What were Ryans' 40 numbers at the combine?
Pay attention! slowest in his group. The discussion wasnt wether he was fast for his size. I was pointing out that he is not a D Freeny type of player. He isnt going to blow by tackles with pure speed. Take the time and read previous posts and you would know this.
You pay attention, cause you didn't read my post or pay attention to the link you posted. - that list was only the top five finishers in each group - each group consisting of 15-20 players at that position. He wasn't "slowest in his group"; rather he was 5th in his group, and the 6th fastest out of 47 defensive lineman.
Yeah, I know. It's kind of misleading though when you have LB and DL/DE's altogether as far as comparisons go. I personally think there will be some 'crow' eaten prior to the conclusion of this season concerning Mario. How much who knows? We've got better coaching and they wouldnt be wasting their time with Mario if they thought he was a scrub. So, yes I already said that I would give them to midseason before I would start chirping about this or that.
