[Official] Astros @ Phillies Makeup game

It truly is amazing how much it sticks out when AE isn't on the field. These are balls that most SS don't get to, but AE makes them look routine. You forget just how good he is until he doesn't play. If anyone on this team should be playing 162 games, it's AE.

 

I could not agree more. It's not as if Loretta was out there making errors, even. But the difference is huge and lead to a very costly inning and a very different game, otherwise.

 

According to the Phillie's announcers, Everett had a sore back yesterday.

 

Yeah, but according to the same Phillies announcers, JR Richard pitched in the 1980 playoffs.

Like I wrote in a previous post...If only....

 

We'd probably be talking about why it took 25 years to get back to the World Series and why it's been 27 years since we've won one.

 

And maybe, just maybe, there would be an Astros hat and jersey in the Hall of Fame--number 50.

 

You never know how these things play out, but can you imagine Scott, Ryan, Richard, Knepper, Deshaises in '86?
