I don't think Cooper considers Lee inept. I just think it's faulty to replace him with a small lead for only a marginal improvement defensively given his far superior ability at the plate, esp. given how often we blow those small leads. As far as that catch he made, it was pretty darn ordinary. He had to come in a little but it was hit right to him. I did actually see a play a few games ago where Michaels made a play that I'm pretty sure Lee wouldn't have made. Still, I don't agree with pulling Lee in most of the cases that we do it.
That is definitely Puma's one real weakness, defensively. Amazing job by Wandy to get out of that jam.
He's great with the glove and those short throws to 1st. It's just those long throws to 2nd and home where he seems to often throw low or wide or both. I know his shoulder was bothering him coming into the season but I don't think his long throw accuracy is a new issue, either, so I'm not sure that would be a legit excuse.
