NICE. It seemed to me that everytime they wore the black unis, they'd win. Must be an intimidation factor

Really, really don't understand those decisions by Cooper. If you're going to pinch hit for Ausmus, Towles is coming into the game -- so why not let him hit? Erstad isn't as horrible against righties, but he's still below average.

I'd also far prefer Cruz in that spot to Blum. Need a miracle against a very stout San Diego pen.

I was thinking the same thing. It might not matter, but it seems like we just wasted a bat for no reason.

Here's another: why Moehler over Geary? I understand not using Villareal and Brocail given the score, but I don't see how using Moehler is at all beneficial in a close game.

Someone needs to buy Wright some pants that fit. He looks like he's wearing Berkman's or Tejada's or Lee's or Wiggington's pants out there.

new coach and he hasn't had a chance to put in the new offense yet.

    oops, wrong sport.

oswalt let peavy have this one. 161-1 is still a good record.

That's one of the stupidest plays I've ever seen in my life. What do you have to gain even if you take that base?

After one game, the Astros have scored the fewest runs, had the 2nd fewest hits, and given up the most hits in a single game than any other team in the majors. Great start to the season.

It is time to rebuild. I don't think our bullpen is very good, and we have one good starter. Keep pence and bourne and try to get some prospects. We have a lot of good hitters and roy o. We should be able to rebuild quickly.

On the bright side Tejada got off to a good start (except for his attempt to stretch out the double) and the pen looked good outside of Moehler, who we knew sucked anyway.

Hopefully tomorrow we can put some runs on the board.

    Are you serious?

    Borkowski looked terrible. No control.

Geary and Wesley both looked solid.

Moehler was actually making some good pitches even though he gave up that run.

    Borkowski was the worst.

Oswalt just had some bad luck and they started swinging at his 1st pitches the third time around. No worries about Roy, he'll bounce back.

It looked like Cooper was trying to get a look at the other guys. Towles will get plenty of chances as our number 1 catcher.
