what a difference a 2 out rally in the bottom of the 9th makes!

was gonna start questioning my optimism heading into the season if they didnt pull that out.

awesome game, great win, and we cant get back out onto the field fast enough!

    let's go stros!

I love Richard Justice's article this morning. The first line reads: "These are the kinds of victories that can turn an entire season around."

    uh...Richard. we've played 3 games.

I actually understood what he was trying to say (scary thought). In essence, it can give a team a sense of confidence knowing they can come back off an "elite" closer.

Wonder if we'll have any of the national media wondering about Hoffman's "psyche" after blowing saves in the Padres last two games last year and costing them a shot at the playoffs if he continues to have problems this year.

This is the kind of offense I was hoping for in the first 2 games. Great to see it last night!

    GO STROS!!!

what are the odds that i stick through the entire damn game, see us go down 6-5 heading into the 9th, decided to call it and take a shower only to come back and notice vlaverde pitching in the bottom half with a 9-6 lead for the good guys....

helluva win, though... let's keep the bats going.

Pitching might not be there every night BUT our batts should come though consistantly.

Tonight was a nice display of that.

    Go 'Stros!

I'm so glad I have the day off today what with the -------> afternoon game and all. I'll admit that I didn't watch nearly enough games last fall. So many of these guys are question marks to me. Chacon pitching today. That'll be my first time I know of that I've seen him pitch. I won't lie, I'm excited.

Lets put up 10 runs today to make up for the first 2 games.

What a great way to win...We needed that and it was good to see clutch hitting and Berkman getting it done...

Wish I was you. Two outs in the ninth, turned it off.

Out of curiosity, why would you turn off a 1 run game with 2 outs in the 9th? It was going to either be over in a couple of minutes, or provide a semblance of excitement.

I get the sense that Cooper doesn't wait too long to do what is necessary. We won't see anymore scenarios like the "try to fix Lidge" debacle of the last two seasons. Cooper must have had at least some input in that great decision to cut Williams before he could hurt us in even one real game.

Borkowski is untalented and a choker. Let's just hope he sucks enough over the next few weeks that he forces management to get rid of him. It may require that somebody like Nieve gets back to 100% so they can replace his arm.

Because I was nodding off and I thought it was over.

    Don't question my fanhood, bro.

    . . . or you'll get the barb wire.

Not questioning anyone's fanhood, just curious as to why anyone would turn off a 1 run game with 2 outs in the 9th.

Because if a team is down after 26 outs, it's over. Everybody knows that. ;)

It strikes me as funny to say that Game 3 turned your season around in a 162 game season. It might set a tone for the season....I could see that as possible. But this game didn't rescue the Astros from the depths...because 0-2 ain't the depths in MLB.

I fell asleep after Cruz walked with 2 outs in the ninth. I dropped my jaw when I opened the paper this morning.
